Developed and utilize the 10hr work schedule that we presently use in our department.Developed a Hemodynamic recontion/Data Reduction course for staff, new hire and 1st year Cardiology fellows upon my arrival to DHLC in 1987; along with the Head Nurse at the time who developed the nurse training program, allows us to have nurses and technologist with no or minimal cathereization expierence to be taught and trained properly to work in a Cardiac Cathereization Lab, along with training of scrubbing for diagnostic and interventional procedures, and the training of preceptors assisting with the training. Provide interdepartamental IABP course for all staffing. Input/responsible for the billing and coding of all procedures/supplies and medications on a daily basis.

Direct and manage a Cardiac Catheterization Lab that provides both Diagnostic and all fields of Interventional Cardiology. Providing the department with the proper flow of the procedures performed with the least amount of downtime between procedures and minimal overtime; all in providing the best patient care and satisfaction as a number one priority. Properly staff each Cath Lab with the proper amount of staffing each case that will assure patient care and safety including making a comfortable working enviroment for the physicians, technologist and nurses who are performing and assisting with the procedures. See that all the staff are properly trained to work in the Cath Lab in all positions in the lab including scrubbing/assisting the physicians with both diagnostic and interventional procedures, operating the recording/monitering equipment; providing them with the proper courses of Hemodyanmic recontion and Data Reduction, EKG reconition, and arrthymia course. Operation of the radiographic equipment and radiation safety. Providing the nurses involved in the Cath Lab with proper education of medication and the admistration of medications for the procedure. Making sure to have all the staff trained for codes if needed for procedures.Assist in the procedures when needed by scrubbing for diagnostic and interventional procedures, operation of the hemodynamic recorder and x-ray equipment. Scheduling staff for the daily operation of the department; day's off, vacations, call coverage (24/7). Purchasing of supplies for the Cath Lab; catheters, stents, coronary ballon catheters and wires, along with all/any supplies needed to perform the procedures. Annual evaluation of the staff performance. Staffing hiring and termination, if needed. Provide any assistance for a staff memeber if need any help with behavioral problems that might lead to termination or suspension. Provide proper in service of all new products, procedures and/or equipment for all physicians and Cath Lab staff before introducing it into the Cath Lab for a patient procedure.
