About Me

Industry:

Legal Services

Occupation:

Contract Administrator

Highlights:

Recognized by the Dallas regional office of the U.S. Dept. of Labor as best grants writer in the six state region. Organized and served as contracts liasion to the first two Private Industry Councils in Texas for the City of Corpus Christi and Tarrant County. I wrote grant proposals to the Departments of Defense, Education, Energy, Labor, and Veterans Affairs. I planned and administered a $45M budget for federally funded employment and training programs in 17 counties of South Texas. I researched and developed an extensive economicdemographics and labor market database that was used extensively by elected officials and the public. I took over and closed out a United States Air Force prime contract for my company and recovered $1.9M for deliverables that had fallen through the cracks and had never been invoiced and paid. I have held confidential and secret security clearances and have worked on major flight simulation, satellite communications and command, control, and intelligence contracts. I managed the largest flight simulation contract ($40M+) for undergraduate pilot training at that time. I also managed flight simulation contracts on the AV-8B Harrier jet and B-1 bomber. Through my enforcement of the site conditions clause in the contract terms and conditions, I was able to make a $300,000 claim by a major subcontractor go away after the subcontractor agreed to withdraw their claim. I helped (as part of a two man team) negotiate one of the first sales of air pollution control technology by an American firm to a company in Guandong province, China. I have also negotiated contracts with customers in North and South America and the Pacific Rim. I have negotiated major complex contracts up to $350M and I have negotiated successfully from both sides of the table as a Buyer and Seller. I have drafted, negotiated, managed and closed out successfully major contracts and subcontracts in the telecommunications, defense, utilities, construction, and engineering industries. I have gone "head to head" successfully in contract negotiations with FORTUNE 100 and 500 companies and their CEOs, VPs, and inside and outside legal counsel. I have developed and implemented the standard terms and conditions still used by several of my previous employers. I have often been complimented by legal counsel on my extensive knowledge of federal, commercial, international, and construction terms and conditions and my excellent negotiations and writing skills. I am certified as a Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) by the Construction Specifications Institute.
