Major Responsibilities
1.Circulating the operating room. Consists of preparing O.R. for surgery case, making sure all surgical instruments are ready for the Dr. Bring patient into O.R. and assist Anesthesiologist with attaching all monitors and induction and intebation. Prepping and draping the patient. assisting Dr. with any instruments, needles, sponges, etc. that are needed during the procedure. Making sure all instruments, needles, sponges, etc. are accounted for. Cleaning off patient and applying surgical dressings & garments. Making sure all nursing & O.R. notes are complete. Assisting with extibation if needed. Bringing patient to recovery room. Clean the O.R. completely & prepare for next case.
2.Careing for post operative surgery patients. consists of assisting patient into exam room, remove all sugical garments and dressings. Accompany Dr. in room with patient, reinforce all post operative instructions. Clean and dress all wounds that need. Assist patient back into garments and clothing if needed. Scedule next post-op appointment. Clean exam room for next patient.
