Major Responsibilities

Having to read structural blueprints. Being able to layout,fit up,tack,and weld to required specifications or at least within an 1/18 of an inch tolerance.

  • I welded bumpers, guards, skids, corners, and other jobs using Flux Core, MIG, and Spray Arc. When I was needed to I did layout and fit up. I would cut and grind parts/material when it was needed. I cleaned and repaired my own welds if it was needed and occasionally I was needed to do the same on other people's. I also operated the overhead crane and forklift to move material if I was needed to.

  • I welded skids, wind boxes, stacks, manifolds, and other jobs using Flux Core and MIG. Occasionally I did layout and fit up. I would cut and grind parts/material when it was needed. I cleaned and repaired my own welds if it was needed and occasionally I was needed to do the same on other people's. I operated the overhead crane and forklift to move material if I was needed to. Occasionally I was used to inspect welds, before the outside inspectors/customers came in, to ensure that the work met the requirements and standards of the job and customer.

  • I welded walls and covers using MIG. Occasionally I used Flux Core when I was needed to weld beams for Acoustic Walls. I helped put the final parts on AEP Boxes and helped pressure test them before they were shipped. I helped put in the Heat Exchanger Boxes and welded on the bars and clips using Stainless MIG. I also installed insulation and perf in the painted walls/covers and welded the perf in. I cleaned and repaired my own welds if it was needed and occasionally I was needed to do the same on other people's.

  • I welded parts for heavy equipment using Flux Core and MIG. I cleaned and repaired my own welds if it was needed. I also operated the overhead crane to move material in to or out of my area.

  • I read structural blueprints to do the layout and fit up of beams, plates (bent and flat), tubes, angle, and bars (flat and round). When I finished the layout and fit up, I would then weld the material using mainly Flux Core, unless the job called for MIG. I cleaned and repaired my own welds and mistakes on fit up and occasionally I was needed to do the same on other people's. I also welded for the fitters who did the fit up on trusetts, frames, and skids. I would cut and grind parts/material when needed. I also operated the overhead cranes, forklifts, and skytraks to move material. I would help assemble the decks for towers to ensure they were done right and to check for any repairs or modifications that were needed to be done before they were shipped to the job site.
