Highlights:
Loma Prieta Earthquake caused power blackout. Contacted IBM Florida explained our problem. They contacted IBM San Jose who sent out C.E. who brought computer system back online. I then ran swing shift and Graveyard shift schedule and had the system back up and running in 17 hours. Client was complaining it took almost seven minutes to complete an order. I diagnosed the problem, convinced EDS staff to purge a million records. Time to complete an order went down to under four minutes. Convinced EDS to upgrade computer system to a faster model. Worked with EDS C.E to install new system on Friday night and finished by Saturday afternoon. Batch processing time decreased by 2/3 and interactive decreased by 50%.
